Signing of a military agreement between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Serbia

On Monday 30 October 2023, an official military agreement was signed in Belgrade, consolidating a bilateral agreement between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Serbia.

The Deputy Minister of Defence, H.E. Mr. Samy ADUBANGO WOTHO, representing the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, H.E. Mr. NEMANJA Starović, representing the Serbian Government, jointly signed this military agreement. The signing ceremony, which took place on 30 October in Belgrade, was a remarkable event.

Ambassador KALALA MULAMBA Joseph, head of the diplomatic mission of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Serbia, was also present, along with the Deputy Minister of Defence, H.E. Samy ADUBANGO WOTHO, and other members of the Congolese delegation.

This military agreement is intended to strengthen security and defense cooperation between the two countries. It is expected to cover a range of areas: joint training, intelligence sharing, security cooperation, and many other key areas of defense.
